We are on the Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary
Time, a week away from the conclusion of the
Liturgical Year. In today’s Gospel, Jesus instructs
his disciples through the Parable of the Talents.
The Master returns and settles accounts with his
servants. Finding that one of them simply buried
the master´s money in the ground, he orders him
to be thrown outside—his talent given to the
other with ten talents. “For to everyone who has,
more will be given and he will grow rich; but
from the one who has not, even what he has will
be taken away,” the Master tells his servants.

2020.11.15 - 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time (Matthew 25:14-30)
A talent is something of value, and all of us have something valuable to give and serve others. In what ways do we empower others with our abilities? How do we utilize our gifts not only in times when we can double our skills, but most especially in times of struggle, sickness, stress, or moments when we are stretched so thin, we have very little to give. Yet the Gospel reminds us that small acts of giving, of service, and love matter a great deal.
How will our small actions of love make a big difference in the world?
Sunday Gospel reflection with Fr. William Grimm - Thirty Third Sunday of the Year (A)
It is to us as servants and for the sake of being servants that God gives us talents. Let us not bury them, but put them forth for the whole world.

Becoming a trustworthy servant of God
hirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 157
Reading 1
Prv 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31
When one finds a worthy wife,
her value is far beyond pearls.
Her husband, entrusting his heart to her,
has an unfailing prize.
She brings him good, and not evil,
all the days of her life.
She obtains wool and flax
and works with loving hands.
She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her fingers ply the spindle.
She reaches out her hands to the poor,
and extends her arms to the needy.
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting;
the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her a reward for her labors,
and let her works praise her at the city gates.
