The Vow of Obedience: Answers from Religious
Obedience is the Only Response to Authority
The Church's authority comes in the shape of a Cross. The vertical of the cross reflects that God's power or authority is transmitted to us through a hierarchy; a chain of command. The horizontal element reflects the apostolicity of the Church. All that is taught must be traceable to Christ and His apostles. Both elements must be present to command obedience. Included is a comparison of St. Joan of Arc with Savonarola; how each of them approached those in authority over them, and examples from the lives of St. Louis de Montfort and St. Juan Diego. Reflection 30: Obedience to God - January 30
Reflection 30: Obedience to God
One key to holiness is obedience. Adam and Eve fell from grace by disobedience and we are restored to grace by obedience. Obedience can be hard and requires a deep interior decision. Look for opportunities to be obedient to Jesus, especially when you do not feel like doing so. Those are moments of great grace and conversion (See Diary #28).
Work at being humble today. Only through humility will we see the pride that leads to disobedience. Pride leads to an obstinate persistence in our sin and a refusal to be open to God’s abundant Mercy. The Holy Spirit is given to those that obey.`Father John Corapi
"...another prestigious institution (Georgetown), remember not too long ago they hid all the religious symbols. Can you imagine someone, a Dignitary or President whatever, comes to a Catholic Institution and you hide all the Crucifixes and statues of the Blessed Mother, you just get them out of sight!? But it goes on.. it has gone on! Why? Pride, Disobedience, Death! The Holy Spirit is given to those that obey.. not to those that disobey!"

A Vow of Obedience
In our final week of our series based on The Monkhood of all Believers we’re going to talk about the vow of obedience. It doesn’t mean just being a good little boy or girl and obeying what those above us tell us to do. Rather, its meant to bring peace and stability in a world that encourages ambition and ladder climbing.
So you think...Obedience
